Memory Walk & Jog

Alzheimer's Australia WA Memory Walk & Jog

An elderly lady in a wheelchair celebrates completing the Memory Walk & Jog.Each year hundreds of us will walk to remember those who have walked side by side with us through our lives, who have left us or who may not be able to walk for themselves. We will walk for the 33,300 people in WA with dementia and the many of those we have loved and lost to this disease.

What started as a small community event in 2009 has grown to be one of the best events for Australians to show they care and remember their loved ones.

In 2016, we raised over $90,000 to help support people living with dementia in Western Australia, their carers and their families. The funds raised will ensure that people with dementia never feel they are facing their journey alone.

With more than 353,800 Australians living with dementia, it’s Australia’s 2nd biggest cause of death and will almost certainly affect us or someone we love in our lifetime.

We all have memories of people worth walking for – why don’t you join us and remember them.

The 2017 Perth Memory Walk & Jog will be on Sunday, 5th November at Perry Lakes Reserve. Registrations will open in June.
