Carer Support Groups aim to bring together and support carers of persons who are living with dementia in the community. The groups provide carers with an opportunity to discuss the impact of dementia on their lives and the lives of their loved ones, and to give and receive information and support. Each group meets once a month for two hours, and are facilitated by an Alzheimer’s Australia WA staff member.
Carer Support Groups are located across the Perth metropolitan area including Mandurah, Baldivis, Cockburn, Melville, South Fremantle, Willetton, Gosnells, Kalamunda, Midland, Shenton Park, Tuart Hill, Girrawheen, Wanneroo and Joondalup.
A separate Carer Support Group for carers of persons living with Younger Onset Dementia (those diagnosed and under the age of 65) is also available.
Carer Support Groups are a free service for carers, as they are funded by the government.
To find out more or join a group, please contact our Customer Support Officer, Orla Hill, on (08) 9388 2800 or email@example.com.
