Intellectual Disability and Dementia Workshop

This workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to interact effectively with people who have an intellectual disability (ID) such as Down syndrome and dementia.

Participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of how dementia affects the person with an intellectual disability 
  • Develop the skills required to communicate with people with the dual diagnosis
  • Respond to changes over time.

Who should attend this workshop?
Anyone working in disability services or community care that may need to interact with people with an intellectual disability and dementia.
