Dementia Training Australia

The Dementia Training Australia consortium provides a national dementia training program. 

Led by the University of Wollongong, it brings together the expertise of Australia’s leading dementia educators who collectively bring a wealth of dementia expertise to this work. 

For the first time Dementia Training Australia provides a truly national approach to dementia training with members based in every state and territory. 

As part of Dementia Training Australia, Alzheimer’s Australia is pleased to be able to offer the Dementia Essentials fully funded dementia specialist accredited course:

Dementia Essentials is a Commonwealth Government initiative offering nationally recognised dementia care training to aged care workers throughout Australia. As a Commonwealth initiative DE, training is free to eligible care staff in the residential and community services sector.

The DE training is available throughout Perth and regional areas of WA and can be provided to your organisation for a group of staff.

The training is based on the latest best practice evidence and research into dementia and provides a strong foundation and intermediate dementia training opportunity for staff.

Certificate IV in Dementia Practice

Unique to Alzheimer’s Australia the Certificate IV in Dementia Practice is designed to advance understanding, practice and leadership in dementia care. Using industry experts to share knowledge and experience, as well as learning and assessments that promote enhanced knowledge, reflection and translation into practice this industry leading dementia accredited course is the perfect pathway to developing dementia care leaders of the future. Our experienced dementia specialist educators can deliver any of our workshops to your workplace, or tailor a package to suit your organisations identified needs. With many years’ experience supporting the development of WA’s aged and health care workforce to enhance dementia practice we can deliver flexible, quality, outcomes based training for your organisation. Online Training

We have a unique suite of user friendly online learning modules that will enhance your dementia practice. Each module can be completed in less than an hour and can be undertaken where and when it works best for you.

We realise that for many people they can it difficult to find time to participate in education so we have designed these modules in a way that will be easy for people new to online learning and enable you to develop clear strategies to improve your practice.
